Point of control

The point of control is the price where the most volume traded in the window Ridge is showing. It is the busiest level. Ridge labels it POC.

The window is five minutes by default. You can switch it to one hour or four hours. With “Decay profile” on, older trades fade and the profile leans on about the last 45 seconds. The point of control moves when the heaviest trading moves. A note such as “Point of control moved up” is that shift. It is not a prediction.

“Price is sitting on the busiest level” means the latest trade is in the point of control’s own price bin. Terrain then reads “on the POC”. Anywhere else, the distance is shown as above or below the POC. The Market Read also tracks POC drift: how far that busiest level has moved while the chart has been open.

In Prism the volume sits beside the older candles, where trades clustered. In Terrain the point of control is traced along its ridge. Hover the landscape and that price reads “Point of control”.

Ridge is a read-only market view. It describes where price has traded. It is not a forecast.
